Days Inn Donington

For the price, especially 3 nights for £120 in late 2025, I can't fault it. The staff are genuinely friendly, the water gets hot, and there's a working bar, bed and TV. It does what you need at a competitive rate, as long as you aren't looking to be pampered. The food options are limited, with no evening meals beyond pizza and just the greggs for breakfast. Nearby places have cooked breakfast if that's essential, for example Richmond Village, Aston on Trent or several pubs. In summer I'd want decent air con, so I might not stay then. It doesn't feel like a 5 star pampering stay, but it's very good value per pound.

The rooms are basic and felt overpriced. Breakfast was disappointing, just a box of cornflakes and milk, a long life pain au chocolat and a bottle of water. Greggs next door would be preferable. Staff were helpful and around 24/7, and there is a staffed mini bar at reception.

This is hands down the best Day's Inn in the country. The rooms are warm, comfortable and clean, parking is easy, and there’s EV charging. Staff are always cheerful and helpful, and they go the extra mile. You can get pizza and curry, and there’s a microwave if you’ve brought your own food. It ticks all the boxes.

I was expecting something like a low budget Travel lodge, but I was really impressed. The bed was good, the shower had strong pressure, the toilet paper was great, and even the mirror had a heated patch to stop it misting up. The staff were very friendly. I can't fault the place, it's ideal for business trips.
