The rooms were clean, nicely laid out and had what we needed, and everyone working there was friendly and happy to help. We also ate there on the first evening. The menu was limited at that time of year, but the food was nice and pretty much what I’d expect from a chain hotel. The bed was comfortable, though much firmer than we’re used to, so we didn’t sleep as well as we’d have liked. That’s a personal preference, of course. We got a Wowcher deal for two nights with breakfast both mornings, dinner on the first night and a bottle of wine, and the location worked well for visiting the Peak District. For that deal, we’d stay again.

I ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, and both meals were tasty and reasonably priced. There’s plenty of parking on site, including Ionity rapid chargers tucked in a corner and around six 22 kW AC chargers nearer the hotel. The AC ones are a bit cheaper and handy overnight, and can be used with Octopus Electroverse. I was here for one night on a business trip. From outside the place looks a bit 1990s, but inside and in the rooms it’s surprisingly modern and really nice.

Breakfast was fantastic and well worth paying for. The breakfast team were so helpful, and thanks to Roy and his colleague for checking us in. We had another great stay, with staff who were attentive and willing to go the extra mile.

Parking was easy, spacious and plentiful, and I’d definitely use the place again. The staff were welcoming, including the friendly breakfast team, and there were plenty of breakfast choices. They’ll cook poached eggs to order. The rooms were clean and had lots of facilities, and the shower gel, shampoo and hand wash were lovely 😊

We got a Travelzoo deal, so it was cheap and cheerful. The evening meal was excellent, and breakfast had loads to choose from, though the buffet wasn’t as hot as we like. The bathroom is getting close to needing a makeover.
