Dinner at the King's Head hotel restaurant was delicious, especially the best game pie we've ever had. Breakfast was lovely too, cooked to order, and the eggs royal were impeccable. Our room was spacious and clean, with a huge, very comfortable bed. The hotel has lots of character and friendly staff. 10/10, would recommend.

I missed the usual yummy breakfast this time because we had to leave extremely early, but the homemade soup I grabbed as a quick snack was so tasty. I wish I'd asked for the recipe! This was another wonderful stay at a lovely country Hotel. The housekeeping is very good, and I always sleep so well because the beds are incredibly comfortable, almost 5-star quality. Definitely recommend.

On my first visit, I was really impressed with the service and food. I had the beef and horseradish with homemade slaw, salad and chips, and couldn't fault it. The price was good, the atmosphere friendly, and the cafetiere made six cups of coffee, freshly prepared and nice and strong just how we like it. We’ll be back.

There were ten of us stopping for lunch after a short walk. We got a warm welcome and the service was very efficient. The menu had plenty of choice, and I thoroughly enjoyed all three courses: homemade broccoli and stilton soup, lamb shank and the best crumble dessert.

We stopped for a light lunch on the way to the coast and had simple sandwiches, chips and drinks. It was really good and exactly what we needed. Sorry we didn't leave a tip, I had no cash with me, it wasn't a reflection of the warm, friendly service.
