Afon Rhaiadr Country House

The location was a great base for exploring nearby and taking longer trips, including Portmerrion. We really enjoyed the Torrent walk, and Gareth and Gina knew plenty about things to do in the area. We stayed in mid-April and had a wonderful time. They looked after our group of three so well, even seating us in the conservatory for our meals after we booked dinner one evening. It made us feel special. Dinner was lovely and the portions generous. I had the garden room, with its own outside entrance, a lovely patio and seating area. It would have been warmer weather to enjoy evenings out there with a drink. My friends were very pleased with their superior and king rooms. The rooms were beautifully done. We’d definitely stay again, and recommend it to anyone who likes personal service in stunning surroundings.

We’re definitely planning to return to Afon Rhaiadr Country House. The breakfasts were freshly made, generous and delicious, with high-quality ingredients, and we looked forward to them every morning. The room was beautiful, spotless and comfortable, and the house has lovely character and thoughtful details. Surrounded by quiet woodland, birdsong and gorgeous scenery, the whole place made it easy to unwind after exploring Snowdonia. Gina and Gareth were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They knew the area well and gladly suggested places, walks and activities. They even printed directions for us. After we got home, we realised we’d left a toothbrush behind, and they posted it back without a fuss. Their kindness and hospitality really stood out. A peaceful, beautiful place to stay, and one we’d happily recommend.

We hadn’t planned any activities, and there was plenty to do nearby. The owners had lots of local tips to share. We found this beautiful place by chance, as an anniversary gift, and they made the occasion feel special by decorating our room with a bouquet, chocolates, banners and balloons. We had two breakfasts and an evening meal, all homemade and cooked perfectly. The building and gardens are breathtaking, and the care and love show in all the details. We especially loved seeing woodpeckers at the full bird feeders. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thanks for all the care you put into it.

We spent two nights here and had a lovely luxury afternoon tea. The food was really nice. It’s a beautiful setting, the accommodation is very cute, and the service was exceptional. Gina and Gareth were such wonderful hosts. The location works well for Snowdonia hikes and exploring North Wales. We’ll definitely come back!
