Premier Inn Dumfries

The room was good and had plenty of space. We were in an accessible room quite far from the main area, though apparently that will be addressed once the redevelopment is complete. They’re due to add a new block and restaurant area. The postcode on the sat-nav took us down a dirt track. Searching for 'Premier Inn Dumfries' got us there instead. Breakfast was the usual Premier Inn offering, made better by Angela, Anna and, I think, Elaine. Their friendly greetings always make the day start better.

A good stay that suited us well, with no surprises, as usual for Premier Inn. Staff were mostly very friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast, and we’d happily stay again. The bar had last orders quite early for a Saturday, around 21:30 perhaps. It’s well placed for Dumfries, a short drive from town and easy to reach from the A75. The sign could use floodlighting, as it’s hard to see when driving east out of town.

My husband and I come to Dumfries once a year and have lost count of how many times we’ve stayed at Premier Inn Dumfries. The hotel and restaurant are both very clean, and the people are lovely and friendly. A big thank you to Angela at breakfast this morning. She was so attentive and helpful, and her customer service is amazing. The food was delicious, but Angela alone is worth a visit. We’ll be back.

The room and location were just what I’d expect at a Premier Inn. Breakfast was a different story, in a good way: my fried egg was freshly cooked rather than one of those hard or rubbery bricks, and the food was hot, tasty and not just warm. Angela was fantastic and helped with my dietary restriction, making breakfast more memorable than another ordinary morning at yet another Premier Inn.
