Apex Dunblane Hydro

Breakfast had a great range to choose from, and the staff there were much better. Dinner was bland and uninspiring, though, and the male server was very brusque when we asked about the menu. It made us feel like a nuisance. The bar service was excellent. The rooms are a little tired, but refurbishment is underway.

The breakfast views are amazing, and the place feels lovely and cosy. Everyone on staff was super friendly, acknowledging us whenever we made eye contact. We live in Essex, and my son has moved to Dunblane. The night train got us there at 5am, so I could have a full day with him. The hotel let us wait until breakfast opened at 7, then went above and beyond by checking whether our room was ready. It was! That helped us so much. Nice to know they can handle unusual requests.

The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It’s a comfortable hotel, with a basic spa on site. The whole resort is due for renovation, so it’d be well worth coming back in future.

My stay at Apex Dunblane Hydro was a great one. The staff showed real care and professionalism throughout. Parking was easy, reception greeted me warmly (I didn’t catch her name), and check-in was simple. The room had plenty of space, a double bed, TV, a workstation with a comfortable swivel chair, and an Apex Duck. I’d never heard of those before, but loved it. The bathroom had a full-size bath with a rainfall shower over it, and the towels were luxuriously soft. I slept really well. Dinner in the Restaurant was great. Harry & Erin looked after me professionally and attentively, and the man who brought the dishes, whose name I didn’t catch, was just as attentive and asked if I wanted anything else. Christian handled checkout with the same care and professionalism I’d experienced the whole time. I’m looking forward to returning and collecting another Apex Duck!
