Premier Inn East Grinstead

The food from the pub next door was excellent and nicely presented, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I travel a lot for work and often stay at different Premier Inns. This one was exceptionally clean, and I'd happily come back.

The staff were very attentive, and although there was no lift, they asked if I needed help. I picked this Premier Inn for a wedding nearby, even though it wasn't the closest option, because it's my preferred chain and I've stayed in them countless times. This stay was a real letdown. The room looked clean at first, but the bath was so dirty I had to wipe it down before showering. I'd brought bubble bath, but there was no way I was going to soak in it. There were mould spots around the bathroom sealant, and both the bathroom and the rest of the room smelled damp. I also found a dead spider on the carpet, which wouldn't have bothered me if the room looked like it had been vacuumed properly. I'd avoid it.

We usually like Premier Inns and have stayed at many around the country, but this was the worst one we've been in. The room looked clean, yet there was a shocking smell, possibly from the drains. When we told reception, she admitted that room had a terrible smell but couldn't help us, and suggested we get some air freshener. We left and found another place to stay, which we've never had to do before.

The room was clean and well equipped. I had booked two non-refundable nights, but my plans changed and I stayed just one. I wasn't expecting a refund, so it was kind of Premier Inn to charge me for only one night plus breakfast.
