The bar and games room gave the children a chance to burn off some energy before bed, and the man who checked us in was lovely with them. He also knew loads about Eastbourne and the events held there through the year. We were in town on 19th February 2026 to see a family friend, travelling with my mum, my six-year-old and my 21-month-old, and needed an affordable room for one night. Citrus Hotel worked out really well. Our room was huge, with two single beds, bunks and a courtesy cot, and it was warm and comfortable. We could see the seafront from the side. The gentleman who greeted us was welcoming and extremely helpful, though I’m sorry I didn’t catch his name. The hotel is basic but has what you need for a short stay, right by the seafront and an easy walk from the pier. The price was excellent value. We’ll definitely return and hope to book during the Bandstand fireworks season.

The beds were comfortable, the views from the rooms were nice, and the place had a cosy feel. It’s a simple hotel in an old building, so it won’t suit someone looking for luxury or everything to be new. The staff do their best, and we hope to come back.

The location was good, and parking was available for a very small fee. Breakfast was continental only, with no cooked option. Cleaning could have been a bit better.

Room 115 was one of our favourites among the many Eastbourne hotels we’ve stayed in. It was lovely and spacious, comfortable and clean, with both a bath and a shower. The sea view was wonderful, the location was perfect, and it was excellent value for money.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the windows did give good views. But the room was very worn and not especially clean. The windows wouldn’t shut properly, and I could feel a draught on my face while lying in bed. The Wi-Fi was the slowest I’ve used; 5G wasn’t great either, though I understand the mobile signal isn’t the hotel’s fault. On my last day they’d run out of car park permits, so I parked for free a few streets away. That wasn’t too bad if you don’t mind walking. The lift didn’t feel safe to me. It looked homemade, and I couldn’t see any sign of regular inspections. I hate to say it, but I don’t think I’d return.
