A last-minute group of seven managed to eat there on a very busy Saturday night. The food was all excellent and fairly priced, and the smart young staff were courteous and knew their jobs. Their service was impressive. It was our best meal in Elgin.

Food and service were very good. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were surprisingly quiet for a fairly old house. We visited in December and the room climate was cozy, warm without draughts or stuffiness. The water pressure was poor. Our room door squeaked really loudly, so getting down to breakfast meant there was no chance of avoiding waking anyone who was still asleep.

The food at Mother’s Day lunch was lovely, but it took almost an hour to arrive. I know they were busy, though it would have been nice to be told there’d be a wait. When we paid, we worked out we’d been charged £28 per person for one main course each, with no starters or dessert. No roast chicken dinner is worth that. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll go back.

I’ve only eaten at the restaurant. The food is superb and fairly priced, and the service is both friendly and efficient.

We chose this restaurant because its website lists several vegan dishes, but unfortunately it didn’t match what we found. The staff weren’t familiar with those options, and it was hard to find anything vegan. There were long discussions, which was unpleasant.
