Luke had already put chocolate and self-care items in the room before I arrived, which was such a thoughtful touch. I’d booked a quiet night to rest and catch up on sleep after having a baby, and the staff made it feel really special. Olly and Julienne were lovely and welcoming when I arrived and again at checkout, so personable too. I’m very grateful to all three of them. They’re a real credit to the hotel, and I hope management knows how good they are.

The evening meal was served from 6:30 pm, with a decent choice, and it came out nice and hot. The staff were friendly, and I had what I needed for a stopover. My room could have been a little warmer, though.

Breakfast was included, and both the room and service were good. The railway line runs right alongside the place, but it wasn’t too bad for me. If you’re a light sleeper, though, bring earplugs.

I slept well, and the staff were brilliant throughout. The room was clean and well kept, with a comfortable bed. Great service.

There’s a petrol station with an M&S local next door, handy for picking up a few bits, and the bar has an outdoor area for food and drinks. We stayed overnight and found the place just right for us. The welcome was warm, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was clean and well equipped, and we didn’t hear traffic or trains despite the main road and railway nearby. The food was simple but tasty, and breakfast from the buffet was very good too. For the price, it went beyond what we expected.
