The price had doubled when we checked the booking details a month before the wedding, and nobody had warned us. After we asked about it, they cancelled the reservation, so we had to find somewhere else to stay. We'd rearranged the booking because of the pandemic so we could be with family before the wedding.

The lake and the setting are really beautiful, but the rest let us down. We didn't get a welcome, and the housekeeping was poor. There were dirty dishes and appliances, and mould had left the freezer unusable.

We had all the gear we needed with us, so being a little remote didn't bother us. For me and my fishing group, the location worked perfectly. I'd happily stay again.

The welcome wasn't especially warm, and the housekeeping was appalling. It's a wonderful location, though, and with a few issues sorted out it could be a magical experience.
