The freshly cooked breakfast was lovely, and the staff served it with a smile. They were also extremely kind and helpful, even finding us a private parking space, which we really appreciated. The hotel is right opposite the beach. Our room was spacious and modern, with a sea view and tea and coffee facilities.

The sea view was a lovely extra when my teenage daughter and I came for the Clacton air show. I even got up in time to watch the sunrise on the beach with a cup of tea. The staff were really nice, and breakfast was good too. We’ll definitely stay again, and I’d recommend it to others.

Everything is just a short walk away, which made this a great spot for travelling with young children. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Parking is a little limited, but the hotel itself is great and the location fantastic.

We were at the Esplanade hotel for a birthday party and didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t comment on the guest rooms. The room we used was near the bar and toilets, which worked well for families with children and older people. Service from the hotel was friendly and helpful.

Room 1 had loads of floor space, so I could do yoga while looking out at the sea. It was massive, with a sea view, and all guest rooms have one. It was clean, with fresh bedding, and there was a heater for cooler weather. The TV had YouTube and other options. Tea and coffee were supplied, so bring biscuits! Breakfast was tasty and cooked to order. The service was friendly and I felt welcome. I parked free on the road on Sunday, which let me stay until noon Monday. There’s also a small free car park around the back. The bathroom had a small shower and no bath. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel came in little tubes. Could they use wall dispensers to cut down on waste? I think the hotel is better than it looks in the online photos.
