The grounds were lovely, and I can picture how beautiful they'd be in summer. The buildings were stunning and very well looked after. My husband and I stayed for a night and really enjoyed it. I especially liked the bath, with its good water pressure, and being able to watch TV while soaking. Breakfast was spot on too. We'd definitely come back. x

The dining hall was beautiful, and every dish we had was gorgeous and cooked just right. We started with cocktails and nibbles in the cozy lounge, then had dinner and drinks. Max was a great host, with spot-on cocktail ideas and wine pairings. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff friendly, and the food delicious. We had a great evening and can't wait to return.

The food was a real highlight. We tried as much of the menu as we could, and everything was a taste sensation. There are two menus, and seeing Isle of Wight Tomatoes was a lovely surprise for us, as we're from the Isle of Wight. Maybe Mermaid Gin will be there next time. Breakfast had loads to choose from too, including a generous continental spread with nuts, grains, yoghurts and pastries. The Wood Norton is a beautifully restored historic building, with finely made woodwork and intricate carvings everywhere. Our room was huge and clean, with everything we needed and more, and parking on site was easy. The team made us comfortable without being stiff, chatting and laughing with us, while also adapting to guests who prefer more attentive service. I have no complaints at all. It was a birthday treat I'll always remember. Thanks so much for making our stay special.

We booked two nights mainly to use the Spa, then found out after booking that it was closed. The website hadn't mentioned this when we booked. We asked for some small goodwill gesture, even just a glass of wine at the bar, but were offered nothing. The Spa is presented as the hotel's main luxury feature, and although it seems to be run by a third party, guests shouldn't have to deal with those internal arrangements. It left us disappointed. The Orangerie room felt tacky compared with what we'd expected from the main building, and there were ladybugs all over it. The bar's fish wallpaper and glaring lights were also jarring, with several other guests complaining about it. It really spoils the feel of the place. The setting is gorgeous, the main building looks spectacular from outside, and the view on a clear day is lovely. The hot breakfast had a good range, and the eggs royal were perfectly cooked. Still, the stay felt overpriced and disappointing.

A lovely place to unwind after a busy day. The staff are always really helpful, the restaurant does great steaks, desserts and more, and breakfast is decent. It's always a pleasure to stay here.
