The Devoncourt

Charlotte and Jamie were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. The rest of the team treated our guests wonderfully, too. From the start, everyone put so much help and thought into organising our wedding reception. Thanks for being part of such a special day 😊

Waking up to a sea-facing sunrise, when the weather allows, and seeing the beautifully kept gardens along the seafront is lovely. We’ve stayed at the Devoncourt several times over the past couple of years, and the service has been exemplary every time. The receptionists and other staff go far beyond what you’d expect for their guests. I’ve rarely felt so moved by a place. Truly lovely to stay here.

The room was large, had everything my elderly aunt needed, and came with an amazing view. It was a little outdated, but the price was very reasonable. She’d been evacuated from her seafront home because of the bomb, and from my first call to the Devoncourt, the staff were incredibly helpful. The reception team kept her in the same room when more people arrived, and brought food to her at no extra charge. Thank you all so much. You must have worked so hard once all the evacuees arrived!

The location was perfect and the room was clean, but just about everything in our apartment seemed broken. The showers in both bathrooms were awful, the toilet wouldn’t flush, and the bed was so uncomfortable I had my worst night in years. The electrics seemed dodgy enough that my hair dryer blew up. Such a shame, as the view was amazing. We won’t be coming back.
