There was plenty for kids of all ages to do during the day, and the evening entertainment was great for our grandchildren, aged 5 and 2. The caravan was modern and very clean, and the facilities were fantastic. Brilliant experience from start to finish. We’ll be back.
Devon Cliffs’ scenery is the real highlight and what made our stay special, with lovely cliffside walks and stunning sea views. The park has a friendly family atmosphere, helpful staff and plenty for kids to do. It covers a reasonably big area and has lots of accommodation types to choose from. Our Bronze caravan was basic, as expected, but functional, clean and welcoming. Better upgrades were available at higher rates. We had a relaxing and memorable family break.
The Sandy Beach Cafe was amazing every time, and I can’t fault them at all. The caravan was clean and nicely presented when we arrived, the beds were fairly comfortable for this sort of place, and the staff were generally great and friendly. The site is well kept, and the entertainment was fun for the kids. We mostly enjoyed our stay, and so did my family, which is the main thing. I wouldn’t personally go again, though, and would definitely advise people to check what’s open and when, and plan their days and especially their meals. The pool and surrounding areas were disgusting. The changing rooms were filthy, covered in dirty footprints and sock fluff. A quick sweep or mop between sessions could sort that out. Staff were walking through with their shoes on, too. We left after half an hour. They’d clearly swept dirt into a drain by the pool, and there were cigarette butts there as well, right by where children queue for the slide. Food options were very limited, and the food at the fast-food style restaurants was awful. Most food outlets weren’t open during the week, and when one opened, the others were shut. There were several ice cream vans on site, but they were all closed until the weekend and open for very limited hours. I’d strongly advise avoiding the pool and fast food restaurants.
My 18-month-old daughter absolutely loved the holiday, and we’ll definitely return next year. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and both the caravan and facilities were excellent. We had a fantastic stay. There’s one thing I wanted to raise about eating at the Wetherspoons restaurant. We ate there six times, three breakfasts and three evening meals. Each time, I had to ask the waiting staff not to hold food trays above my daughter’s head while she was in her high chair. Everyone apologised and dealt with it straight away, which I appreciated. I understand the end of a table is often the most practical place to serve from because it’s usually clear, but high chairs are often at table ends too. Children’s safety should come first, as accidents can happen. I’m not making a complaint, just suggesting it may be worth reviewing so it doesn’t happen again.
We had a wonderful time and I’d still go back. The location is fantastic, and there are great facilities and activities. Our caravan smelled a bit musty, and the swimming pool changing rooms could have been cleaner. Those were the only downsides.
