We spent four evenings here with colleagues while in Eye for work, and the pub’s cozy, authentic atmosphere made it a lovely place to visit. It’s a beautiful old venue with a fountain inside, and there were plenty of locals around, which always says a lot. The beer choice is excellent and varied, and the staff were genuinely warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.

The staff were attentive and polite throughout, and breakfast was a highlight. The Full English was delicious and filling, with plenty of other choices too, so it’s worth looking through the menu over your first cuppa. I stayed one night at The Four Horseshoes Inn. I got a lovely welcome and the room suited my needs perfectly. It’s an old building, so expect creaks and a few things fitted to the space, but that’s part of its charm. Downstairs, the pub has loads of character, with art on the walls that you can buy. Dinner was very good quality with some lovely options. The tables are reserved from early evening, which gives you a sense of how good the food is. There’s the usual bar seating plus 2 small function rooms. On my visit 26 people dined in, and the kitchen handled the numbers well. Great place to stay.

We’d stopped here for a quick drink in the summer while out on the Motorbike and said we’d come back for food. We’ve now done that. I had Fillet Steak and my partner had steak and ale pie, and we both really enjoyed the meal. The service felt honest and friendly, and the ambiance was superb. It’s now my favourite place to eat in the area. Looking forward to going back, highly recommended.

What a great find. We stayed in our campervan, had drinks and then a fantastic meal. I chose venison and my husband had pork chop. All the staff were great, especially Tracy, who was fab, fun and really good at her job. We’ll definitely be back.

We booked Christmas lunch with friends for Dec 1st 2025. It’s a charming thatched pub, with a lovely atmosphere and old world charm inside. The meal was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. Our waitress Kiera (sorry if spelt wrong) was polite, funny and attentive without being pushy. We really appreciated being asked if we wanted a break between courses. We’ll be back soon and would definitely recommend a visit.
