The bed was great, and the staff were excellent. Rooms were comfortable and the people were really nice. Breakfast was good, but serving instant coffee let it down, and the shower wasn’t the best. I’d stay again.

We booked a couple of rooms for a four-day educational session and were delighted with the experience. The double bed was very comfortable, breakfast was very good and room service was available for it. The friendly, helpful and polite staff cleaned the rooms every day, so cleanliness was never an issue for us. Five out of five.

The fittings and decor are looking a little tired, but I didn’t mind. They give the hotel a retro feel that reminded me of childhood holidays in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. My bed was very comfortable, the bathroom and dining room were spotless, breakfast was superb and there was more than enough parking. I’d book here again if I needed to stay overnight in the area.

Parking is limited, and the only plus for us was having a fan in the room. The hotel feels dated and was surprisingly noisy despite not having many guests. We didn’t stay for breakfast. We paid more because it was a bank holiday weekend, but it wasn’t value for money at all. It was our first stay, and while the lobby, bar and restaurant looked nice, they were smaller than expected. The room’s mix of decor styles was a surprise, but the bigger issue was the poor maintenance. The shower head wouldn’t stay upright, the toilet didn’t flush well, the walls were scuffed, the curtains wouldn’t close properly and the cleaning wasn’t up to standard. The tired mattress had lots of dips and what felt like broken springs, almost like a bit of a waterbed. I wouldn’t recommend it.
