The apartment was lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean, with nice furnishings. Parking on the road was the problem. Free overnight parking starts after 6:00 pm, but there are very few spaces, and I had to keep circling until another car left. One night it took me two hours to find a spot.
After a long day at work, the hosts’ clear instructions and attention to detail made it easy to find the apartment and parking. I was staying on business and was really happy with the place. The parking that came with the apartment felt very secure, which reassured me because I had a van full of tools. I could also see it clearly from the rear room window. The Nespresso machine was a lovely touch and made for a good start to the day.
Christian sent helpful information before we arrived and made sure we had what we needed. We felt safe staying here during the pandemic because appropriate measures were in place. The apartment looked just like the pictures and was very affordable. There were several local restaurants and takeaways nearby, and we were offered 15% off at the Indian restaurant next door. We had a quiet, lovely weekend at Everest Lodge and would definitely book again.
We drove an hour to get there and ended up getting back in the car to go home. It was nowhere near the luxury we expected. We were told the apartment was having a deep clean and had to arrive an hour later, but when we got there it still wasn’t ready. The room smelled awful, like a dirty mop had been used. At first glance the apartment seemed clean, but it was filthy. There was coffee, sugar and an unknown spill on the kitchen counters, greasy tiles, a sticky floor and food left in the fridge. We found dirty fingerprints on the switches and cupboard and fridge handles, handprints on the walls, cup marks on drawer tops, and stains on the floor by the bed and throughout the apartment. Some looked as if they might be vomit or blood, which felt even less acceptable during Covid. The living room window looked out onto a roof covered with empty beer cans and rubbish bags. The room also didn’t match the booking photos or what the host had promised. There was no superking bed, no 50-inch wall-mounted TV with LED backlighting, no Echo Alexa and no coffee machine. Instead, there was a roughly 37-inch TV on a dirty table. Complete false advertising.
We stayed here three weeks ago. The twin room had a really big TV, which was the only plus. The location wasn’t great, and the flat could have been cleaner. The bathroom shower was terrible, and I’d have preferred a shower cubicle instead of one above the bath. There was no sofa, so nowhere to relax except at the dining table. The single bed was far too small, and anyone over 5.6 would hang over the end. The TV had Netflix but no terrestrial channels. The kitchen was falling apart and needs replacing. It was also overpriced compared with what the other contractors in the same apartments were paying at the time.
