The Falcon Hotel

The hotel had a retro feel that took me back to family holidays in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Some of the fittings and decor looked a little tired, but I didn't mind, it suited the character of the place. The room and dining room were clean, the bathroom spotless, and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was superb, and there was more than enough parking. The staff were friendly and the service excellent. I'd book here again if I needed to stay overnight in the area.

They let us check in two hours early because our flight landed ahead of schedule, and the staff were considerate and friendly. The bathroom had been updated and the shower was fine, but the room itself was small, dirty, and very dated. The bed was on the small side, though comfortable. WiFi was slow and only worked about half the time. I asked for another room, which I've never done before, but was told there weren't any available. The tiny, untidy parking lot costs £10 a night, which seems silly when there is free parking nearby. There are plenty of other hotels in the area, so I wouldn't return. It's a pity, since I can see the place has potential.

We loved the sausage at breakfast, and the meal was nicely prepared. Reception staff were friendly and seemed to be available late. We arrived to find free parking spaces just outside this traditional hotel, a little outside town. The room was large, with the facilities you'd expect. It was acceptably clean, though the fittings were getting old and tired. The bed was very comfortable, with clean bedding that felt good quality, and the towels were lovely and fluffy. The bathroom was a little snug but had a full-size bath. Getting in and out of the bath to use the shower above could be difficult for guests with mobility challenges. Road noise could be an issue with the windows open, but the double glazing did its job when they were closed.

We booked a couple of rooms for a four-day educational session and were very pleased with our stay. The double bed was really comfortable, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and polite. Breakfast was very good, with room service available, and the rooms were cleaned every day. Cleanliness was never a concern. I'd rate the hotel five out of five.
