The views from our windows over the hills and woods were beautiful, especially with snow on the hills. We also enjoyed wandering the hotel grounds and their little paths. Inside, the castle is stunning: the lounge has painted ceilings and chandeliers, and you can smell the fire as soon as you enter reception. Our room was spacious, with a separate sitting area, and reached by a wide carpeted staircase. Both nights we had the tasting menu, which looked artistic and tasted divine. The staff were fine, and one gentleman in particular was friendly and knew lots of history about the castle and its furniture. He was happy to chat when we asked.

We were welcomed so warmly, even though I booked at the last minute and arrived just five minutes later. They even made fresh scones for us at 9pm, which were perfect in my opinion. Our pretty garden room had a roll-top bath that I absolutely loved. Everyone was friendly and approachable, and we'd happily stay again. Thanks for fitting us in at such short notice.

I took my wife here for a surprise Valentine's afternoon tea. We'd never stayed at the hotel, but the experience was lovely and the place itself is amazing, worth every penny. We were met in the car park and shown to our table. The staff were so kind and friendly, gave us plenty of time to choose, and helped with our questions. There was a lot of food, and it was delicious. Such a great way to relax and enjoy the afternoon.

We visited during a snowfall, which made the peaceful, well-kept grounds around this historic castle feel even more magical. There are several places to stay, including rooms in the castle and separate buildings such as the gate lodge, so there's some flexibility. We met a few excellent staff members, especially Daragh, whose professionalism and warm manner stood out. The setting and atmosphere make for a special, peaceful Highland getaway. For a luxury property, the guest services felt limited. Laundry is outsourced and only available Monday to Friday, with no laundry or dry-cleaning facilities on site, which could be awkward on a longer trip. Our room also had problems with the internet, TV, and towel heater, none of which worked. And although there was turndown service, there was no bottled water by the bed, a small detail often appreciated at this level. The castle is truly beautiful and memorable, but better upkeep and service consistency would make the stay feel more luxurious.

The food was a highlight for me: carefully prepared with local ingredients, and served with the refinement you'd expect here. The rooms are luxurious, with historic character alongside modern comforts, and the views across the loch and mountains are breathtaking, especially in the morning. Inverlochy Castle sits beneath Ben Nevis, surrounded by calm grounds and grand architecture, and the welcome from the staff was warm and professional from the start. It's an elegant, peaceful place that feels like stepping into a storybook. Even without an overnight stay, afternoon tea or a walk around the grounds would be worth it. A magical experience that stays with you.
