The Millcroft Hotel

I booked two rooms for five nights for my family of three. On arrival, we were given two apartments, which we didn't need. Staff said I could cancel one and get a refund if they resold it, so I trusted them, cancelled the extra room and handed it back. They resold that same room while we were still there, but I never got any money back. Afterwards, they ignored my emails and calls and refused to provide an invoice for the stay. I feel they took advantage of my trust and broke their promise. The facilities were in a disgraceful state, as the pictures show. This was dishonest and abusive behavior. Travelers, be warned: I found this hotel unreliable and deceitful, and wouldn't want anyone else to have the same experience.

The room was clean and comfortable, and I stayed in the sea view suite. The bed got in the way of the bedroom door, so it wouldn't open all the way, which is why I'm giving four stars. There wasn't a hair dryer, though I wouldn't expect one at a 3 star. Still, this pub with rooms felt better than a 3 star and was a great place to stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

The staff were absolutely lovely, and we had great breakfast and dinner. The bar was good too, and we met some locals. We stayed three nights in a suite or apartment, with two levels, a living room and two bedrooms. It was clean throughout, although the bathroom floor could use some construction TLC. There are lots of staircases, so the building can be confusing to navigate. Get your bearings before you've had a few drinks. There was plenty of parking. We heard the campsite behind the building lets you use its laundry facilities for a small fee. We'll be back for a longer stay. 10/10.

The location is beautiful, with lovely views on every side, and the staff served us a great meal at the restaurant. The rooms were a sufficient size, but the beds weren't very comfortable, so we had a rough night's sleep.
