Best Western Gatwick Skylane Hotel

The parking deal is good if you're flying, and the receptionist when we arrived was very nice. On our return, though, the night receptionist wasn't especially welcoming or helpful. We'd booked a double but got three single beds, and the sheets were creased, as if they hadn't been changed properly. The bathroom floor was gross, and finding out my car had been moved from its parking space was concerning. It was okay overall.

My wife and I have stayed here many times and always leave our car, which has been perfectly safe. The rooms are clean and adequate, and they can arrange a return trip to the airport for £6 per person. For peace of mind at a competitive price, I can thoroughly recommend this hotel. Mr Green

The hotel is comfortable, but the bar is bland and expensive. A taxi costs £9, so if there are a few of you, the shuttle at £3 each may seem worthwhile. We left the car in the front car park and called when we got back to ask for the bus. The stop was a long walk away, and after a couple of calls we waited 40 minutes for it. For an early departure, you'll need to arrange a taxi anyway because the shuttle doesn't run then, though the taxi was very reasonable.

The food was very good, but take your confirmation if you booked through a third party. We were told breakfast wasn't included, even though our paperwork clearly showed we'd paid for it. The room was very clean, but we could hear the people next door filling and emptying the bath. The airport transfer was short and extremely fast. I ride a fast bike myself and enjoy speed, but this felt close to dangerous. The bags and cases were crashing around in the back, and I felt sick.
