Radisson Red London Gatwick Airport

We had a great stay for a very good price. Saurabh gave excellent customer service and even went to check that my car was still where I'd left it after my tracker sent a misleading message that it had moved. We parked for the nine days of our holiday, after staying one night before an early flight. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was fine, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. We like the quirky decor as regular guests at Raddison Red Hotels. We skipped the restaurant and bar to walk 15 minutes to the Gatwick Manor pub, where the food and ale were good, though the hotel bar looked fine and the meals we saw looked nice. At 05:30 we took the HB1 shuttle, which was fine, took 10 minutes, and cost £5 each. Oddly, we got a better hotel-and-parking deal through Holiday Extras than booking direct, and even the staff recommended doing that.

The lobby and bar were comfortable places to spend the evening, and the food was decent at good prices. Rooms were quiet and comfortable, and the staff were kind, friendly, and lovely. The £5 airport shuttle is handy, so I'd recommend it. There are even countryside walks nearby.

The food was a pleasant surprise. I tried the chicken wings, soup of the day, and Cajun chicken, and they were all genuinely delicious. There's also a small gym downstairs, perfectly adequate for an overnight stop. Rooms are spacious enough, and the shower has good pressure. The corridors are narrow, which can make things a little noisy depending on who's coming and going. The hotel is clean and modern, well maintained, and spotless throughout, with friendly staff and smooth check-in. My main complaint is the setting in the middle of an industrial estate, with little around. Still, it's good enough for a one-night stop while travelling through LGW.

We needed somewhere for one night before an early flight, and this was a great choice. The rooms were clean and nice, the staff friendly, and the restaurant portions were good for the reasonable prices. The bed was the most comfortable we've ever had, and the room was incredibly quiet thanks to superb insulation. In January, though, the air-conditioned room was quite cold and we couldn't turn it off ourselves, but the receptionist helped. The shuttle didn't come as often as we'd expected, so we had to order a taxi. Highly recommended 👌
