The location made it easy to get to attractions and restaurants, and I’d happily stay here again. Breakfast was delicious, with lots to choose from. Our room was clean, spacious and very comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful from check-in through check-out. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The dust on the closet shelves was noticeable and set off my allergies, so housekeeping needs to pay closer attention to that. Otherwise, the bathroom was clean and well maintained, though a little small, and the room was a decent size and comfortable enough for a city stay. Check-in was pleasant and smooth, and the staff were welcoming and efficient. The hotel is very central, with easy access to major sites, shops and restaurants, which made getting around Glasgow convenient. It’s a solid stay in a prime spot, but cleaning needs to be more thorough, especially for guests with allergies.

There’s plenty to like about the hotel and it fits the AC Brand overall. The lobby and bar were busy for most of the day, and the rest of the room was clean. I also appreciated that the blackout curtains covered the windows completely. The hotel is modern and new, in a good part of the city, and just a short walk from Glasgow Queen Street station. Most places in the city are easy to reach on foot. The room had some issues. Mold was visible at the bottom of the shower glass, the tile outside the shower looked water damaged, and the glass panel in the bathroom door didn’t seem to get cleaned. The bed also fell short of the usual AC standard: it seemed worn out, and the springs squeaked, as if it already needed replacing.

We’ll definitely come back. I learned when I started in hospitality in 1996 that the important thing is that customers return, and this was a lovely second visit. We came from Edinburgh for a one-night break after my birthday in August, away from the usual obligations. The room was a little smaller than last time and the view wasn’t the same, but I hadn’t asked for a particular view, so that was fine. It was spotless, and after 29 years in hospitality, including 12 in housekeeping, I notice these things. Huge respect to the housekeeping team. The bed was so comfortable I wanted to take it home, and everything we needed was right there and in its place. At reception, Edith was welcoming, professional and kind. She reminded me of Lynda Carter, the original Wonder Woman, one of my favourite characters growing up (yes, I’m that old 😆). We had dinner at the restaurant after check-in, and the food was delicious again. Katy, our waitress, was friendly, polite and always smiling. At breakfast, the team were wonderful as always, and switching to the coffee machines was definitely the right move. The coffee was strong and delicious, just what we needed to start the day. Glad that’s been fixed!
