If you have not stayed at a Moxy before, the modern lobby and tiny rooms may surprise you. I chose this hotel because it is extremely close to the SEC. The staff were always friendly and helpful, even when I needed help contacting an after-hours dentist. The rooms are incredibly small and have no closet, mini fridge, or desk, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. There was water left in our kettle when we first entered the room, but everything else was clean. I would stay here again if I needed to be at the SEC.

The location is very good for the Glasgow SEC, OVO, exhibition centre, and train station. The staff and facilities are hip, polite, and helpful, and the restaurant and facilities work well. The rooms are small, with no cupboard or clothes storage. Luckily, our soft luggage could slide under the bed. The bathrooms are tiny. I am 1.80m and 100kg, and could not raise my arms to wash my hair. The internet is unusably slow for anything beyond light browsing. That was very disappointing because I was supposed to work while touring, but the slow connection made work impossible. I suppose that was good because I was on holiday. I would recommend this for a short stay. Bring soft luggage to store under the bed. It is definitely not suitable for work or for a stay longer than three days, as the space is too small and the internet is below an acceptable standard. I cancelled other Moxy bookings on this trip because I was willing to pay more for more space and hopefully usable internet.

We recently stayed overnight for a concert at the OVO Hydro. The room was great, very clean and modern, and perfect for one night. The staff were amazing, especially Kieran, Ava, Joseph, Safal, and Dec at the bar. We would absolutely stay again.

Do NOT stay here for the conference centre. As the receptionist put it, the hotel is "bare bones basic". There is no iron, safe, or fridge, and nowhere to hang clothes. There is an ironing room, but it looks dirty. And what are you supposed to do with your clothes after ironing when there are only 3 hangers? It is a cheap hotel if you want an inconvenient location for the city; otherwise, avoid it at all costs. I am editing my review because the woman at reception and the bar, probably the rudest person I have ever met in the service industry, said, "if you want a nice hotel there are plenty I can recommend. We are aimed at young travelers who want to dump their bag and go out to have fun". They also do not accept cash at the bar, and breakfast was very bad. It really is the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. It might be okay if you paid £20.

We booked because we had a concert that evening and did not want to deal with the car park afterward. The price was reasonable and check-in was easy. The car park is behind the hotel, and the hotel validates parking to cut the cost in half. The room had everything we needed. The halls were clean and tidy, and it was very quiet despite the busy hotel and the crowds downstairs who seemed to have the same idea as us. The staff were friendly and helpful. Late checkout at 12pm was wonderful because we did not have to rush out after a late night.
