The staff were brilliant and the service was great. It's a welcoming, family-friendly place with good food and an excellent location. There are plenty of parking spaces on site, at £9 a day. If you can pay a bit extra, the Premier Plus room is a great option.

The team dealt with a group of drunken troublemakers who came through reception and started making a scene. Their behaviour went beyond noise and demands, turning racist and homophobic. It was disgraceful to hear that language in public and see it directed at staff who were just doing their jobs. The staff stayed calm and professional, stood their ground, protected the atmosphere and helped nearby guests feel safe. They handled hateful abuse with real dignity. It's a reminder of how much hospitality workers are expected to put up with. Once the group left, the hotel settled back into its usual warm, relaxed feel. My own stay was lovely, with a spotless room and genuinely friendly staff. It felt like a place run by people who take pride in their work. Seeing how the team handled that situation made me admire them even more. A brilliant hotel with a brilliant staff, and I'd happily return.

The rooms were large, the beds comfortable, and the food was very good. We ate at the hotel both nights, and with 15 people and no complaints, that says plenty. The location was perfect for us, and most of the staff were exceptional. Karen and Lisa went above and beyond for our large group and were always smiling. Lisa especially made an extra effort for me, and is a credit to the hotel. Dealing and Amy on the night staff were very nice too. At breakfast on our first morning, the manager seemed to be having a bad day. If staff need reprimanding, it should happen away from guests. It's unpleasant for the staff and uncomfortable for guests. Even so, it was a great trip and I'd happily come back.

The room was what you'd expect from a Premier Inn, and it stayed quiet despite being beside the road. Parking is available, and though the hotel is over the bridge, the city centre is still walkable. There is a bar and restaurant, which I didn't use. If you forget something, there's a charity stall with toothbrushes, toothpaste and similar bits; a Co-op is a five-minute walk around the back for anything else. The only annoyance was the air conditioning beeping whenever it came on, which woke me once or twice.
