The staff were lovely and ready to help at any time, and I felt well looked after. It was clean, had what I needed apart from a kitchen, and the nearby bus station made getting around easy. I knew from reviews that nights could be noisy, that there was no kitchen, and that the triple bunks are stacked sandwich-style so you can't really sit up. I booked anyway, so I'm not blaming the hostel for those things. What I hadn't expected was how much of a bar atmosphere the shared area had, with lots of guys drinking beer and playing pool. There wasn't really a quiet spot to eat or make a call. For three nights, though, it was totally okay.

I booked for one night and ended up staying five. One of the better places to stay in Glasgow, with professional, accommodating staff. Best of luck to everyone working there, especially Kian. Thanks, I'll stay here whenever I'm in Glasgow again. 👍🔥

The staff were friendly and around when I needed help. I can only speak about the second floor, where I stayed. The dorm felt cramped for the number of people in it, and neither the room nor the bathroom had ventilation. I imagine summer would be especially uncomfortable. The mattress felt like I was lying straight on the springs. You couldn't adjust the shower temperature either. Nightclub noise was noticeable, but the hostel doors were making constant noise and bothered me more. For what they charge each night, I think the hostel needs to put money into some improvements.

The room was small and nothing like the booking photos, with no kettle or hairdryer. There was an uncapped water bottle that looked as if it had been sitting there for weeks. The floor had gum on it, the window had mould, and it was dusty, especially around the radiator. One screw on the door handle was loose. The showers near our room were filthy, with mould, dirty floors and mirrors, cracked ceilings, and grimy shower bases. In the morning, the only working toilet we could access on our floor was full of rubbish and filthy. There was also a smashed window in the stairwell. My boyfriend and I booked because the hotel advertised itself as a safe place for LGBT+ people, but we didn't feel safe. We were harassed when we used a shared bathroom on another floor because a toilet on our floor wasn't working. The toilet door had no working lock, so I had to hold it shut. When we came back to the hotel, a group of drunk people blocking the doorway made us uncomfortable too. Staff weren't attentive. At check-in, they handed us a key and said to go upstairs to our room. When I went to reception because our working toilet had no toilet paper, the person seemed not to care and acted as if showing us where another toilet was would be a bother. We weren't asked about our stay when checking out. I'm very disappointed and won't come back. This experience really affected how much I enjoyed my birthday.

Mum and I stayed from late July into early August, and neither of us had a good experience. Our check-in took 30 minutes because the guest ahead of us had a problem with a Booking.com reservation. There was one man on reception, no second staff member, and a growing queue. I paid £100 a night, £400 altogether, for a private room. It was dusty and hadn't been cleaned properly. There was no kettle, tea-making setup or hairdryer in the room. The only hairdryers were fixed ones in the bathroom. I managed to sleep with noise-cancelling earphones, but Mum couldn't. The hostel says it's inclusive, yet there's no ramp for wheelchair or walker users. We didn't feel welcome, and the stay put a damper on our time in Glasgow. I emailed a complaint and got no response. Management are rubbish. At £100 a night, they should provide basic amenities on a par with other local accommodation, but they don't. We won't return.
