Sherbrooke Castle Hotel

Our corner room was enormous, with a little alcove for two chairs and a small table for tea or coffee. The main room and the hallway closet were both large, and the bathroom had a full-size separate bath and shower. Wooden windows looked out over the surrounding area, lovely by day or night. The curtains were heavy, which helped in winter, since the castle is a bit drafty. The room was well heated and kept us warm despite the chance of snow. There are no elevators, though the staff can help with luggage. We'd first booked a traditional hotel before deciding to look for a castle, and found Sherbrooke. It was super cool. The staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating, and the restaurant food was superb and reasonably priced. It was especially beautiful with the Christmas decorations and lights. If you're after something beyond run of the mill accommodation, this is a place to stay.

Claire and William deserve a special mention for going above and beyond to make our wedding day run smoothly. Claire communicated brilliantly throughout the planning and gave advice that really helped. The only small snag was that the canapes didn't reach all the guests, which was frustrating, as some people were left hungry. We had a wonderful wedding at Sherbrooke Castle in October. The setting was fantastic, with a beautiful ceremony room and the castle as a stunning backdrop for photos. There was plenty of space for guests to mingle and for dancing later, which everyone enjoyed. Aside from the food issue, the day was very well run, and we're grateful for all the care that made it special. Highly recommend!

A lovely breakfast and great dinner, in a quiet part of Glasgow with gorgeous surroundings. The rooms were a good size. There are no elevators for the upper floors, but the concierge was happy to help.

We went for Christmas dinner with six adults and two kids, but didn't stay overnight, so I can't comment on the rooms. The decorations were cosy and lovely, the seating was comfortable, and there was plenty of parking. The food was okay for the price, though a few items didn't match what had been advertised. It wasn't a huge deal, but it would have been nice to know in advance. Service was fine, including from a lovely chap in reception, but the gaps between courses felt a little long. I'd give it another try, since it may just have been an understaffed night.
