Kelvin Apartment

The welcome was lovely, even though I arrived late. In the room there was a kettle, cups, plenty of teabags, coffee and biscuits. It was very clean, much cleaner than some more expensive hotels I’ve stayed in. I slept perfectly in the cosy, extremely comfortable bed, with hardly any outside noise despite the location. The only two-star thing about this place is the price. Thanks to everyone who makes the hotel work. I’ll definitely be back 😊

We chose this place mainly for its fantastic location. The room was nice and roomy enough for two, and breakfast was good. Staff were attentive despite being busy. The walls were very thin, though, and we could hear guests in rooms across the corridor as if they were right beside us.

We booked through Airbnb, but they didn’t respond at all, so good luck getting an answer if you have a question beforehand. There were three bathrooms and two toilets for about 12 rooms, which may not be enough in the busy season. The top-floor bathroom looked horrible and very worn, while the one downstairs was very nice. The beds were lovely and comfortable. We did find a used milk tub in a nightstand drawer, but it didn’t bother us.

The room was clean, and breakfast was just the right amount for me, not too much. I worried the main road might make it hard to sleep, but the original window shutters blocked out the noise. Good value, and dogs are welcome, which is a big bonus for me. The woman who checked me in was very helpful. The room was too warm for the dogs and I couldn’t turn the heat down, so I opened the window. It was fine when I got back after a night out. The separate toilet and bathroom were a wee bit small. They were fine for me, though I suspect a larger person might struggle.
