The Lynnhurst Hotel

Our family and friends would like to thank the Lynnhurst staff for working so hard and professionally on Christmas day. The food was all excellent and hot, and it reached everyone in our group efficiently. Drinks came quickly, and staff stayed on hand throughout. We were a party of 20 in our own private room, with a beautifully decorated table and thoughtful details that made us feel welcome. We received the varied menu weeks in advance, and the event was well managed from the start. We'd had a few disappointing Christmas day meals elsewhere before, where large groups dining at once affected the food and service. This afternoon was fantastic, just like last year. If you're thinking about dining out for Christmas, you'll not find anywhere better than the Lynnhurst Hotel.

The food was really good, and the service was great. Our room was beautifully furnished and spotless, and the staff were kind and friendly. The hotel itself is gorgeous from top to bottom. A perfect stay from start to finish, and I'd highly recommend it.

We were mesmerised by the room and the rest of this stunning hotel, with its grand history and ornate features proudly on display. You can see there has been no expense spared. We especially liked how the bathroom sits in a pod within the bedroom, leaving the cornice work and other features visible. We were there for two friends' wedding, and although we live almost six hours away, they kindly booked us a room. The food was delicious, the service was very good, and it was lovely to see how attentive the staff were to our friends. The gardens are beautiful, and the gardeners clearly love their work. The whole place was so clean, with nothing out of place. My only difficulty was the dim bedroom lighting. It suited the atmosphere, but wasn't great for putting on lashes or makeup. If that's the only negative, they deserve five stars in every area.

The staff were very welcoming, and the hotel is lovely, but our winter room was really cold. The heating seemed to come on only at certain times and made little difference, so it never warmed the room properly. Planes flying over to the airport also made quite a bit of noise, though of course that comes with the location. The continental breakfast was okay, but very standard with few options.
