Our room was large, the bed comfortable and the view from the window pleasant. Sol at reception welcomed us warmly, explained everything and was very professional. The restaurant had a good choice and served great food. Avijit looked after us professionally and checked whether we had any allergies. The breakfast buffet was excellent too. They also sell honey from bees kept on the hotel grounds. Thanks to all the staff for making the stay relaxing and enjoyable. Hopefully we’ll be back in summer or autumn.

We hired a lakeside pod and had such a beautiful, quaint and unique experience. The food there was amazing, and breakfast the next morning was delicious with lots of variety. We were also upgraded to a lovely privilege room when we arrived for our wedding anniversary. We’ll definitely stay again.

The building is lovely, the rooms were spotless and the bar service was great. It’s a bit off the beaten track, and watch out for Google directions, they don’t take you directly there. A glass of wine costs £12, ouch. Good overall, though.

I’m giving this hotel 5* because of the excellent, professional way the Latvian receptionist handled a difficult restaurant experience the previous night. The hotel itself is lovely and superbly located, and the free secure parking is a welcome bonus. Rooms are clean, airy and well equipped, but the shower pressure is weak and the water only lukewarm.

I organise our work Christmas party every year, and the December 2025 one was at Bowden Hall. After all the years I’ve arranged it, this hotel has been the best by far. Everything was so organised, both beforehand and on the night, and everyone was friendly. The food was the best we’ve had. No complaints at all. Highly recommended.
