Premier Inn Goole

We didn’t stay at the motel. We went to the Aire and Colder restaurant with our oldest daughter and her husband for their 25th wedding anniversary. The meals were OK, but we prefer the House Martin down Wheatley Hall Road in Doncaster, as I like getting a carvery from the carvery deck.

We couldn’t have the breakfast we’d paid for the day before because the restaurant had unexpectedly closed. The receptionist didn’t even apologise. In the room, the bedsheet was stained, and we were given a duvet cover instead of a clean sheet. There was mould on the rubbish bin and the bathroom mirror was dirty. Rooms need a more careful check after cleaning. This was the worst Premier Inn we’ve stayed at so far, and a very unpleasant experience. I don’t recommend it.

The location works well for us. I come in every few weeks for breakfast, and it’s always the same, with a large choice of food. The staff are helpful even when they’re very busy.

The hotel was quiet despite where it is, though truckers sometimes park along the approach roads and make getting into the car park tricky. The attached pub and restaurant was closed for breakfast on both mornings of my stay, as well as for an evening meal between the two days. That was shambolic, and the staff in that area seemed to find it funny. There isn’t much else to eat besides Subway and McDs, so I ended up going hungry. Reception staff were great and couldn’t have been more helpful. The room was a typical PI affair, with a comfy bed, a decent enough shower, and a desk and chair that worked fine for getting work done.
