The Downe Arms

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. Late at night, drunk guests from next door in room 5 threatened me in room 4 and suddenly banged heavily on my door. The room doors all open straight onto the parking lot, leaving nowhere to get away from these men. I called the hotel and nobody answered, then called the police, but they did nothing. Nobody helped. It also feels unsafe that people coming out of the bar can get from the parking lot to your bed without a guard or barrier. The thin walls and doors let in every sound from people and cars outside, all the time, so getting proper rest is impossible. NOT SAFE.

Massive servings at reasonable prices, and the simple pub food tastes great. This is exactly the sort of pub you want.

The Sunday dinner carvery was the best ever. Top quality meat and vegetables. If you haven’t been, you should go, you won’t be disappointed.

My wife and I stayed a few weeks ago and were really impressed. The room was lovely and clean, the pub was very nice, and the landlady was lovely. The staff were brilliant, and we couldn’t fault anything. We’re coming back this weekend and can’t wait. We’ll definitely be regulars. Thanks, see you all soon.
