The fresh breakfast had plenty to choose from and was delicious. On arrival, the complimentary drink was a lovely touch and good value. Everyone was welcoming, especially the man at reception, who took the time to give us a map and information about nearby places. They had also gritted the large, free car park carefully, and it's clear they look after their guests. We booked the Abbey hotel for a birthday, and it made the occasion special. Our room was beautiful with an amazing view. I'd love to return and highly recommend the abbey.

I wasn't happy with my stay and would rate it minus 5. I paid £118 for one night, which I found completely unacceptable. When I went to reception to explain, she said she'd already raised my concern, but didn't offer a refund or even a discount. This hotel is off my list. The bed was tiny, like a child's bed. I'm only 153 cm tall and my feet reached the edge. Without a headboard, I could touch the wall by stretching out my arm. The shower room was so cramped I could barely stand in it, with no space to move. The food was poor, too. The soup tasted like blended boiled broccoli with hot water added, the chicken was dried out from overcooking, and the dessert called chocolate orange was actually chocolate mousse. Breakfast the next morning was ordinary sausage, bacon, egg and toast, with no fresh fruit. I asked for a banana and was given an orange because they had none. The only other fruit they had was frozen, thawed in the evening. I've never stayed in a worse hotel. For that price I should have chosen somewhere like Holiday Inn, where a queen-size bed, pool, sauna and other amenities would have been included. This Hotel has no pool or sauna. It does have a gym, but I didn't visit because thinking about what I'd paid would have upset me.

Our ground-floor room was huge, with a very comfortable bed, and the bathroom was spacious enough for a separate bath and shower, though the shower was over the bath. It worked perfectly well and had strong pressure. An updated bathroom with a waterfall shower as well as the bath would add even more wow factor. The hotel is well maintained, with lots of different areas to explore, and there's a good-sized car park. We were there for a badminton weekend on a special dinner, bed and breakfast rate. Dinner and disco were in the Edgar Suite. The meal was very good, and the serving staff were polite, lovely and efficient, even with 17 large tables to look after. Service from reception through dinner and the bar was outstanding, a real credit to their customer service training. The Abbey Hotel is gorgeous, a majestic building right in the centre of Malvern. We didn't have time to explore the beautiful Malvern Hills, so we'll return for a short break in spring. I'd recommend it to large groups looking for a venue for a function, conference or similar, and we're hoping to come back with family so they can experience it too.

The buffet breakfast is excellent, freshly prepared, and served in a comfortable restaurant where the staff are always ready to help. The rooms are clean and very well cared for, and the team are polite and do what they can to make your stay more comfortable. I can't wait for our fourth visit this summer. The views from the room are breathtaking.

The Romanian man on reception during the week was outstanding. He was happy to chat and share information about the local area, and went above and beyond. I spent three nights at the Abbey and had a wonderful stay. The staff were professional, friendly and welcoming. My room was very warm, clean and spacious, with breathtaking views and a relaxing atmosphere.
