Decoy Barn

John & Suzanne made sure my husband and I had a stay to remember. Nothing was too much trouble, and I’m severely disabled, so their care made a real difference. They have a beautiful home, and Buddy is an adorable, friendly dog who seems happy to meet everyone. Suzanne must be one of the best Chiefs at cooking breakfast. Her food was amazing and cooked to perfection. They cater for almost anything you could want, and even leave fresh milk in your room each day, which made my coffees much better. There’s also a table and chairs outside the room for a cuppa in the sunshine, when you get some 😂. John is a mine of information about where to go, what to do and how to get there. Our daughter and her boyfriend hope to visit in September this year after hearing us talk about how beautiful it is and how lovely John, Suzanne & Buddy are. We both loved the rest and relaxing atmosphere they create, and hope to return later this year or next, if they’ll have us. Thank you, John, Suzanne & Buddy, for a fabulous break. The peaceful, well-kept gardens and the tea and cakes waiting when we arrived made a lovely first impression. The hosts were brilliant and happy to help with anything. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and served, and well worth paying extra for. We only booked one night on 11.7.25, but it was such a pleasant surprise that we’re hoping to come back in September for longer.

We had a relaxing stay at Decoy Barn. The room was really nice, and there’s a lovely garden where you can sit outside. The place has won a lot of certificates, and the breakfast room was beautifully set up. The owner offered us a drink and made it straight away. Breakfast is cooked fresh, with plenty to choose from, including Smoked Salmon. There’s a ramp at the entrance for wheelchair and mobility scooter access. We did have to wait for the electric gates to open when we arrived. Decoy Barn is a little out of the way and only serves breakfast, so you need to drive somewhere for other food. Just Eat delivers, but ours took a long time because it was difficult to get a driver to accept the order. The room does have a mini fridge. Catch the video on our Youtube channel.

Loved this place, it’s a real gem. The garden and terrace just outside the room are so pretty, and a great spot to read or relax. Everything was immaculately kept, and the room was very comfortable. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was lovely. Highly recommend!
