Imperial Hotel

We’re return visitors and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal at Cafe Cru restaurant. For our dinner booking of 13, The Imperial Hotel/Cafe Cru team handled everything with care, professionalism and great customer service. They made named place cards showing each person’s menu choices, which gave the meal a personal touch. Our waiter, Adam, knew his wines and answered our questions about what would go with the meals. He looked after the table extremely well. Thanks again to Grant and the team for making the evening memorable. We’ll definitely return to dine there.

We stayed three nights, arriving on 30th December and leaving after breakfast on 2nd January. The whole package was amazing, and we won’t wait until next New Year to visit again. The rooms and staff are lovely, and the hotel has so much to offer. This was our second New Year's celebration at the Imperial. This year’s Great Gatsby Gala included a Gala Dinner and Disco, and the evening had a wonderful atmosphere and lovely food. We hope to be back soon.

The attached restaurant was the highlight for me. The food was amazing, and the restaurant staff were warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming. Reception was welcoming too. The hotel is a short walk from the main attractions, while being in a quieter part of town, and it’s only 6 min by taxi from the train station or 25 min on foot. I’ll definitely return. Brilliant work, everyone! It’s a beautiful old-fashioned seaside hotel, but the interiors and rooms are quite dated. There are no USB plug sockets, room sockets are limited and some are broken. Everything was clean, and the bathroom was nicely decorated, though it needs an upgrade. The mini freeze in my room was useful. Management should focus on modernising the bathroom and parts of the room, including the sockets.

I had a lovely time, and the Murder Mystery company presented their show so effectively. The noise meant I couldn’t hear or note the company’s name, so can you help me find out who they were? Thanks to all the staff. They were delightful, helpful, smiling, and very professional throughout the evening, while still feeling natural, even laughing at the silliness. The meal was excellent and served efficiently by pleasant staff.
