The staff were lovely and clearly wanted to help, but the problems seemed to be with what they had to work with. Room 412 had a strong cigarette smell, especially in the bathroom. Staff confirmed it and sprayed the room, but it kept coming back through the ventilation from somewhere else. We also needed something to eat before a later event. Only one of the two soups we ordered was available, so I chose the fish goujons. They apologized for how they looked, and they tasted nothing like fish, with a texture more like reconstituted chicken. The attached video gives you an idea of how cheap the ingredients seemed. They refunded the charge. Breakfast felt cheap too. The sausages looked like shriveled prunes and had no taste, and the plates for the hot food were cold.

The location worked really well for getting to bars and restaurants, and being beside Grimsby Town railway station didn't cause any noise that bothered us. Parking cost £9 for 24 hours, paid by QR code or at the machine in the car park. For one night, the room was perfectly adequate. We had a spacious second-floor room, a comfortable bed, a decent bathroom and a really good shower. Breakfast was good too, with hot and cold options regularly replenished.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was really nice with a good shower. No smart TV, unfortunately. Breakfast could use some improvement.

The staff really made the stay for me. They were so polite, kind and helpful, especially Jayne, who patiently helped me track down my lost sunglasses. She contacted the bar where I last remembered having them, which was amazing service. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean, spacious and comfortable the rooms were. The shower was hot and powerful, and although the bar and breakfast selection was limited, both were nice and satisfying. I was very impressed and couldn't recommend the hotel more. Thanks to all the staff.
