My stay here a while ago was a very bad experience. The place seemed seriously short-staffed, so at the bar or reception I had to wait around or go looking for someone to help me. The restaurant was nearly empty, but it took about 15 minutes to get seated. I waited five minutes, then the manager said he’d be with me in a minute. He walked by without making eye contact and left me waiting another five minutes. The other staff member eventually seated me. After I sat down, the manager came over and asked me to move tables, even though there were only four or five other diners. I tried ordering three or four different menu items, but none were available. In the end I had to ask what I could get, and apparently it was just a burger. The manager had the worst customer service skills.

We walked from the ferry port, and it was an easy enough trip. The location worked perfectly for our overnight stay before the last ferry crossing to Guernsey. I was ill with flu and felt awful, and my elderly parents and I were completely worn out, but the staff were so kind and welcoming that I nearly cried. Thank you to everyone working on 22nd December 2025. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable, and the bath was just right when I was shivering. We liked the food too. It all exceeded what I expected. The floors and walls are quite thin, though. I had to ask some children staying directly above us to stop jumping on the furniture. Apart from that, it was excellent.

We were cycling, and it was handy that bikes were allowed in the room. There was plenty of space, so they could be kept secure. The walk into town was easy, the staff were friendly, and breakfast looked good.

Sarah and May made me feel so welcome while I was away for work, and nothing was too much trouble for them. They’re a real credit to this hotel. It’s one of the best places I’ve stayed. Thanks so much for looking after me on my trip from Cornwall. I’ll miss you both.

The rooms are what you’d expect from Premier Inn, but the restaurant was like Faulty towers. On the first night, 70% of the menu wasn’t available. After I ordered one of the two things they did have, staff kept asking if I wanted to order anything else and took away my condiment while I was still waiting for my food. After a full day’s work the next night, I was told I’d have to wait two hours for an 8pm table, even though the restaurant was less than a third full. And I’m on my own, FFS. Unless you want to take a taxi into St Peter’s Port on a wet, windy Guernsey day, avoid this hotel, or you’ll be eating a cold meal from Waitrose across the road. Unfortunately I have another night of this. I definitely won’t stay here again.
