The Yorkshire Hotel

The location was excellent for exploring town, and parking was cheap. It's a lovely old hotel with a modern reception. Our room was clean and had good facilities, though small and very basic, which matched the budget price. It was cool inside, with only electric heating. Reception staff were friendly and gave useful information.

They surprised us with a free upgrade to a bigger room when we checked in for my husband's 70th birthday. We would've been happy with a standard double, but the birthday card on the bed was such a kind touch. We've stayed at the Yorkshire hotel before and it never disappoints. The meal at the Pickled Sprout restaurant was fabulous as usual, and all the staff were wonderful, especially Lottie on reception, such a lovely young woman with a beautiful smile. We'll be back in the summer. Thank you for another lovely visit xx

We'd happily return because the location is so central and the staff and cleanliness were spot on. The building is old but has modern features, and we liked that character. Our room was spacious, though the view of the bins at the back was pretty lousy. We also heard noise from nearby pubs, but it settled down. The rooms with nicer views may just be pot luck, and we didn't spend much time in ours anyway. Parking right outside is unlikely, so use the multi-storey about a 5-10 minute walk away. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was tasty and regularly replenished.

The Pickled Sprout restaurant in the hotel has a varied menu, and the Sunday roast is worth booking. This place is a delight, with a superb location and phenomenal staff. I sometimes book a staycation in my own hometown of Harrogate, and this hotel is just the ticket!
