The staff took great care of me during an excellent one-night stay. I booked at short notice and got upgraded from a single room to a double at no extra cost. The food was good and competitively priced, and breakfast was an excellent full Scottish with tattie scones and black pudding.

Such a welcoming, friendly pub. The lovely barmaid made me smile with her walking flowers, iykyk! My fish and chips with mushy peas were awesome, and I love the views here too.

Dinner was great, and the service was just as good. The staff were very polite, but I was disappointed by the disabled toilet. It had handrails, yet the WC was much too low. With my recent surgery, getting off it was a struggle and put a lot of strain on my joints. I had locked the door and started to panic that I wouldn't be able to get up. I hadn't been out of the house for a long time, and this incident spoiled what had been a lovely day out until then. They should replace it with a suitable toilet to help people like me.

The food was very good, but the Eton mess was basically a plate of cream with three tiny pieces of meringue and just three or four raspberries. We waited 45 minutes for the main food, then had another long wait for dessert. With just two staff, we expected some delay, but that was too much. We'd booked for six, and the staff came across as unwelcoming, like serving us was a bother and they didn't want to be there. We won't return or recommend it. I hate leaving a negative review, and looking at the other reviews, maybe we were just unlucky that evening.

The rooms were a really good size, comfortable and still felt homely. The location is great for visiting Lomond, but what really made the visit was how welcoming the staff were. I'll be back in the Summer.
