Feversham Arms Hotel and Verbena Spa

The meals were a highlight. We couldn’t fault anything we ate, and everything was cooked beautifully and served hot when it needed to be. We also loved the spa and pool, especially our morning swims in that wonderfully warm water. We stayed for three nights over Christmas with our dog, and the hotel was very dog friendly. The welcome from the staff and manager was warm, and that friendliness carried on throughout the stay. Everyone was helpful at all hours, day and night. Our room was beautifully presented and spotless. The Christmas tree and wreath on the door were such a nice touch, along with the lovely hamper and dog treats. We really appreciated the staff giving up their own Christmas to make ours so faultless and memorable. It seemed to be how all the guests we spoke to felt too.

The mud wrap at the spa was brilliant, and the staff clearly know their stuff. They even brought complimentary Sorbet after the treatment, something we haven’t had at other places. They really do try to stand apart, and succeed. We booked the “you and me” time package for one of our birthdays. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated in a country chic style, and fully equipped. I’d ordered balloons and a gift set, and the team had also left a birthday card, a really nice touch. Every team member we passed greeted us, whether in a corridor, by a room or in the restaurant. The communication between staff is clearly strong, and they go out of their way to look after guests. The chefs use local produce like venison, beef cheek and crab, so it’s a great place for foodies. One of us is a bit fussy and tried some dishes before ordering room service later. That meant I got two lots of the dishes, and the foodie in me had no complaints! The manager spoke to us when we were leaving and removed the food service from the bill, saying they wanted to make sure we had something we enjoyed. It wasn’t a problem for us, but next time we’ll speak to the team first. You should too, even if you just fancy a chicken wrap 🤣. From booking right through to leaving, the whole team made our break feel special. We honestly have no negatives. We’ve had lots of spa breaks and stayed at many of the Q hotels, but Feversham is miles ahead in every area. The reviews don’t do it justice. The hotel is lovely, but the staff are what make it. The gentleman who checked us in at the front desk was so jolly and friendly, and Molly, who served breakfast, was gorgeous. She’s a real asset: helpful, chatty, friendly and happy to accommodate our requests. Thankyou, Molly!

The spa treatments were exceptional. I had a full body massage and a luxury pedicure, both done to a very high standard. We were looked after especially well by a blonde Eastern European lady, though I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name. Even when we changed our spa appointments and dining times often, she handled it easily and with real warmth. Her attentiveness and professionalism stood out. The hotel is in a stunning location and felt like the perfect place to rest and recharge. The whole experience had such thoughtful, caring service and attention to detail. Rochelle and JW
