Premier Inn Hemel Hempstead West

It's the usual Premier Inn standard, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the on-site restaurant was satisfactory. A 24-hour Mcdonalds and a Shell garage with a shop are right alongside, and the pubs are about a 15-minute walk away.

We stayed over Halloween weekend and found it really comfortable and cozy. Our room, 216, was spacious and clean. On one night it got so warm and stuffy that falling asleep was difficult. The aircon wouldn't cool it down, so we had to open the window. I expected more noise with the dual-carriage way so close, but it was quieter than I thought and didn't disturb our sleep. The location was perfect for our plans: Harry Potter studios, Whipsnade zoo and St Albans’s. The reception team were friendly at check-in and check-out, though we didn't otherwise interact with staff. There's a station beside reception where guests can get extra tea, coffee, milk and sugar, and it always seemed well stocked when we passed. Parking was easy and there were plenty of spaces, though it looked quite full later in the evening. The price was very reasonable. We were really happy with the stay, would highly recommend it, and would 100% stay again.

We came to meet my Dad for breakfast one morning while he was visiting the area and staying at this hotel. We were given a table in the small seating area. After breakfast service, the chef came out and checked that everyone still dining had enjoyed their meal. Talking with him, it was lovely to hear how much he cares about the food he prepares and cooks, and how passionate he is about making diners happy. We'll definitely come back for dinner or another breakfast soon.

The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to look after our party of eight, including the children. Breakfast and dinner were both good, with great service. The location was really handy for getting to Harry Potter Studios. We'd stay here again.
