We ordered a hot chocolate and found ants in it. We asked for another, and that one had ants too, yet they still wanted to charge us. The place feels rundown and old-fashioned and needs a thorough clean and spruce-up. The crowd struck me as old, crusty, snobbish, and colonial. It needs some real improvements.

Phyllis Court has a superb spot by the river Thames, with the town an easy five-minute walk away. The staff were first class and professional, and I made full use of the fitness centre. The place is stunning and very high end, probably a bit too high end for me. There's a dress code, no flip-flops, ripped jeans, or T-shirts with offensive slogans. No complaints, though the dongle to open the back gate took several attempts to get programmed correctly.

We had our wedding here, and it was wonderful. The food was good and the rooms lovely. It didn't disappoint.

A really nice place, especially suited to adults over 50. We enjoyed it.

It’s a beautiful riverside setting, and the open day let us see what an annual membership includes. There’s a gym, pool, croquet lawn and restaurants, and you can also book the venue for a wedding or party.
