Having a fully working kitchen to cook our own food was a real bonus. The room was very comfortable, and both the outlook and location were great.

We had to bring just about everything ourselves. There was no toilet paper or kitchen roll, no surface cleaner, salt or pepper, and no cooking basics like foil, baking paper or sandwich bags. My partner and I often rent places like this and usually find those essentials provided. We stayed in a lodge. The inside was basic, and there wasn’t much attention to detail. It could feel a lot more homely with little expense if the owners changed their approach. The setting is lovely, but it’s better value when six people share than when there are just two. You’re expected to take everything with you.

The room was spacious and spotless, with tea, coffee and a hairdryer. We could use the kitchen too, and that was just as immaculate. Our host greeted us warmly, and it was a joy to stay in such a peaceful, undisturbed spot just outside Bellingham. There was a personal connection for me as well. My father told me my late mother had stayed here as a little girl after being evacuated during the war. Synchronicity. Thank you, and recommended.

Spent two nights here with friends and found it absolutely perfect. You won’t be disappointed.

Brownriggs was a lovely place to stay, and we’d definitely recommend it. The lodge was fully equipped, very clean, with comfy beds and a good shower. The owners live on site and were really helpful. It’s a peaceful, beautiful setting. You can walk to Bellingham or drive there in about ten minutes. The village has pubs, a Co-op, butcher, chemist, post office and gift shop, plus a lovely place called Lunch where we picked up pies and cakes.
