Travelodge Holyhead

There’s no hotel breakfast, though McDonald’s is close by. The location is handy for Holyhead Port and the Dublin ferry, and High Street is a five-minute walk away, with that classic UK village feel. There are nice views of the port and easy access to local places. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with good heating. There’s plenty of free parking for cars and vans. For the bathroom, check with the front desk whether your room has hand wash and shower gel. Seemed well suited to work trips and families.

The location is easy to find, just off the A55 in the town centre, and shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Rooms are roomy and clean, though basic. Breakfast is only a very simple box meal. Fine for a short stay of a couple of days or nights.

We’ve stayed with this hotel chain quite a few times, and this visit stood out in a good way. It was quiet enough for us to properly relax, and the hotel was clean and well kept. We’d happily recommend it for families with children.

The room was spacious and clean, but I couldn't get it warm enough because the heating seemed blocked and I couldn't turn it up. I arrived around midnight and was only there for one night, so I didn't ask anyone to sort it out. The water also stayed just above lukewarm, and I couldn't work out how to make it hotter, so the shower could have been better. There was probably a way to adjust that too. The service otherwise was fantastic. The receptionist was really efficient and friendly, even with my group of more than 30 people. We arrived soaking wet in the middle of the night, and her welcome made all the difference. Thank you!
