We stopped for a bite on our way home from Bamford. It was quiet inside, but warm and welcoming, and both people at the bar greeted us with smiles and a hello. The hot sandwiches came with chips and onion rings, and everything was well prepared, nicely cooked and tasty. There's a good range of beers and other drinks, the decor is nice, and the place was clean. We had a great experience and will be back.

I rarely leave a bad review for a hospitality business, knowing how hard it can be to make money, but I feel I have to in this case. After eating fish here, I was violently sick with vomiting and diarrhoea for 24 hours, and I was still affected 48 hours later. I was in my campervan with my dog and couldn't drive the 34 miles home until I felt able. Being ill in their car park was dreadful. They offered me a free pint if I passed by again, but wouldn't accept responsibility while I was unwell there. Once home, I requested a full refund through their booking platform because no email address was available. Two days later, I still hadn't heard back. Mistakes can happen; how a place responds matters, and I felt they showed no concern for my wellbeing. If I had been elderly and frail, this could have been far worse. If a large group had all eaten the fish, there could have been a lawsuit and an investigation. I won't return or recommend the inn. Punters, you've been warned. I'll wait to see what they say here to defend their business practice.

The valley views from this pub are panoramic, and the owner was super friendly and entertaining, especially when showing off his fire-lighting skills. We had delicious, tasty pizzas at a good price, and there was a solid choice of beers. We'll be back soon.

We spent one night here as four friends visiting Chatsworth Markets. The food was high quality, and the family running the place were attentive and happy to help with anything. The hotel staff made us feel very welcome. When we asked about getting a taxi, they gave us a name and number so we could arrange both the pickup and return journey. Steve from Penny's Taxi was lovely, chatty and knowledgeable, and we found him trustworthy. We'd happily use him again and recommend him. I'm looking forward to coming back.
