Sue, the landlady, was a diamond, and the facilities were brilliant. I stayed last night with a very old friend, in room 1 while Steve had room two. It was a great find, and the place is steeped in history. I'd highly recommend it.

Staying above a pub felt wonderfully English to me as an American, and we felt right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. The location was so convenient for the sea, shops and restaurants. From the train station, it's a quick Uber ride or about a 30-minute walk. Guest rooms have their own entrance, though you can still go through the pub if you want. I'd absolutely stay again for a night or a weekend.

Sue, the landlady, was so friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. We stayed one night, and the room was clean, quiet, comfortable and well located. Breakfast was a very good continental spread and great value. The bar downstairs looked cosy and friendly, though we didn't have time to stop for a drink.

We can't wait to come back. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and couldn't do enough for us. The pub is lovely, the rooms are spotless and really comfortable, and breakfast was great too.

Such a warm welcome, and the owner really does everything she can to make your stay a good one. It felt like a little gem, with caring staff and thoughtful extras, from plenty of breakfast items to a little beauty box. There was real milk in the fridge for coffee, too. I'd definitely book again. Thank you Sue x
