We came for a quiet break and everything went smoothly, from arriving right through to leaving. The staff were kind, polite and very helpful, and the room was spotless and arranged well, with thoughtful bits for making hot drinks. The heater kept it comfortably warm the whole time. There’s a local pub with an open fire next door, too. I’d definitely recommend the hotel if you’re after a peaceful stay.

I slept well despite the hotel being beside a motorway. You can hear it, but not much. The room was good, the bathroom very clean, and the bed comfortable. It’s a little tired, which is fair for a budget place, and the TV was dated but usable. There could be charging sockets or plugs beside the bed. The £4 grab-and-go breakfast had plenty to eat and seemed worth the price, and there was tea and coffee in the room. A very good price and it did the job. Reception gave me a lovely welcome when I arrived at 10.45pm.

Karen at reception made me feel really welcome, and the staff were very friendly. My room was a decent size, with a comfortable bed and a shower with good water pressure. The location worked well and it was much better value than the hotel next door. I’ll stay again.

Clean, comfortable and inexpensive, with easy access to and from the M62. The staff were helpful and friendly. There isn’t any dining on site, and breakfast, if you ask for it, is a hot roll with a hot drink. That’s not ideal, but it won’t put me off staying there again when I’m next in the area.
