Manor House Lindley

We were given a table by the window and a lovely Yorkshire welcome on Sunday, with smiles all round. The three tiers of savouries, scones and cakes were more than enough, so we needed a takeaway box. The menu was straightforward, with prosecco and champagne available, plus several teas. The Rooibios was fresh, fruity and delicious. The room is beautiful, almost oriental in style, with Chesterfields, tables and banquettes to choose from. I’d highly recommend The Manor House in Lindley, Huddersfield for lunch or afternoon tea. Its Georgian heritage sits nicely with a cool feel for all ages. We’ll be back.

As a professional wedding videographer with NL-Videography, I find The Manor House Lindley one of the best luxury wedding venues in Huddersfield and across West Yorkshire. The events team is warm and well organised, looks after suppliers, and helps the day run smoothly for the couple. Visually, it’s a real treat to film: the main house has elegant details, while The Coach House has dramatic lighting and a very different feel. There are lots of cinematic backdrops, which makes capturing polished wedding highlights effortless. If you want a stylish venue that photographs beautifully and runs smoothly, I highly recommend it.

The restaurant food was fantastic, the location was pleasant, and the staff were lovely and helpful. But we stayed in room 5 and found it really disappointing. It was very small and poorly equipped. The kettle and coffee machine were tucked in a cupboard without plugs, so we had to move them to the little table, and water from the machine leaked all over the top. Our friends in room 7 had the same problem. There was no proper dressing table or mirror, and just one tatty chair at the table, so there wasn’t room for both of us to sit anywhere except the bed with a coffee. The bathroom was spacious and smart, but had nowhere for toiletries apart from the window ledges; the shower looked good but was average. We were woken before 7 by a bridal party getting ready in the next function room. Our friends along the corridor in room 7 were disturbed early too. We stayed one night to see good friends, but wouldn’t stay again.

The car park was great, and all the staff provided excellent service. I liked the Sunday lunch, especially the delicious food, though the roast beef needed a sharper knife. I was a little disappointed by the roast potatoes and wasn’t sure whether they were frozen. The dining room felt a bit dark for my taste.
