Stade Court Hotel

The lobby was good, and the location is great, right beside the beach. The rooms, though, were untidy, with hair and stains everywhere, and the kettle hadn’t been cleaned, with milk or food residue inside. The room card didn’t work, and staff service was poor. To get to the rooms you go through a restaurant where the staff were rude. Housekeeping and staff training need improvement.

The town and beach are both easy to reach from this great location. Staff were friendly and helpful, and when we reported a small problem with our room, it was fixed very quickly. There’s a small car park at the rear, as well as on-road parking. There was no breakfast available at the hotel, but there were places nearby, so it wasn’t a major issue.

We were there for two nights for a wedding. The room was good enough since we expected to spend most of our time out, and the staff seemed pleasant at first. The morning after our first night, we bought snacks to have when we returned from the wedding. When we got back, the unopened food had been taken from our room, the bin had been emptied, and the hotel coffees had been drunk, even though we hadn’t touched them. Whoever did it left an empty sachet on the floor. My wife raised it with the front desk, but they denied it had happened. If you care about your belongings, I’d say don’t stay here.

For the nightly price, the clean rooms and nice staff gave us nothing to complain about. There wasn’t any food available while we stayed, which was the only drawback, though I’m sure that’s changed by now.
